Montys is like a flavor party where your taste buds are the VIPs and everyone else is jealous. I went in expecting lunch and left questioning every culinary decision I’ve ever made in my life. The burgers? So juicy they practically winked at me. The fries? So crispy I briefly considered building a fort out of them and living there permanently. I ordered coffee, and it didn’t just wake me up — it slapped me in the face with a velvet glove, whispered, “Get ready, buddy,” and changed the way I feel about mornings forever. The steak sandwich? Tender, succulent, and just the right amount of chaos in a bun. I wanted to clap after every bite but feared being mistaken for a very enthusiastic seal. The vibe is pure Pukehina magic. Sun on your face, gentle sea breeze, and the kind of ambiance that makes you dramatically sigh and say, “This is where legends eat lunch.” I half-expected a troupe of ukulele-playing dolphins to appear and serenade me. Montys staff are so friendly, so efficient, so impossibly good at their jobs, I considered following them home just to absorb some of that energy. Seriously, if friendliness were a currency, I’d be bankrupt from trying to keep up.

Good food, great service. Sitting in the sun having a steak sandwich and beer for lunch. I think it will be a great place to bring the kids for a play and a graze. We'll be back again soon.

I’ve been here with my wife and baby at least a dozen times. The food is consistently great. The vibe is uniquely Pukehina. We love it.

Such lovely atmosphere, live music, incredibly friendly staff, cosy seating, pool table, and great food and drinks. During morning cafe hours they are happy to top up hot tea :)

Monty’s Cafe is a fantastic new cafe located on Pukehina Parade opposite Motunau Park & Beach. The coffee, food & service is excellent. There is both indoor dining and a large outdoor dining area with louvre roofs. Highly recommended.

What a jewel along the coast, boasting a variety of indoor/outdoor seating, views to a playground and the beach beyond. Mother-out-law had haloumi on avo mash sourdough with hot honey, a new twist on an old favorite. The best part was the amazing positivity in chatting to the proprietors! With all the current doom and gloom their talk of future plans was like the sun finally coming out ! And dog friendly too!

Lovely spot. Great friendly staff. Great food, nice beer garden. Nice menu. Good George beers plus a decent selection of wines etc. Nice now for a winter weekend Sunday drive, will be a perfect summer spot.

My hubby and I just tried the burgers tonight and we both absolutely loved them! We got the chicken and beef burger combo and we honestly couldn’t rave about them more. Service was 10/10 and the whole atmosphere/vibe was great. Will def be back and crossing our fingers we qualify for delivery zone
